Well, it took me a while to realize that this is NOT the arts festival, considering that the first guy I met was a musician fluent at german! It's the pridefest .
After a good hour of pride I finally spent a few minutes at the arts festival (after I went in circles within downtown, it was harder to find than the pridefest).
The oldest remaining structure of Fort Pitt in Pittsburgh is the so-called blockhouse. Inside is a souvenir shop.

The Fort Pitt Block House is not a souvenir shop. It is the oldest architectural landmark and the oldest continuously operating museum in the city of Pittsburgh. This National Historic Landmark is privately owned and receives no funding from city, state or federal agencies. As a self supporting site that is open and free to the public year-round, there is a small gift section that provides the revenue to support preservation, educational programs and research. As a means to generate the revenue necessary for preservation, educational programs and research, it does offer gift items for sale but it also contains artifacts and exhibits that detail the history of the structure and its survival since 1764. The Block House is open Wednesday through Sunday 10 AM - 5PM.
